UN Productive Capacities Index
“Productive capacities are the productive resources, entrepreneurial capabilities and production linkages that together determine a country’s ability to produce goods and services that will help it grow and develop.” The PCI covers 193 economies for the period 2000-2018.
Productive Capacities Index (PCI) is the outcome of United Nations Development Account Project. Index is a valuable tool in identifying key binding constraints on economic development. There is growing recognition of the critical importance of productive capacities in the development process, there is no simple, uniform and universal blueprint that enables developing countries to address their persistent and emerging development challenges.
